Viking festival
2023
Since 1995 the viking reenactment group Rimmugýgur has hosted a viking festival and market in the coastal town Hafnarfjörður. The festival celebrates the rich culture, art and history of the viking ancestors of Iceland and other Nordic countries. For a few day’s every year, the past age awakens and the air is filled by the sound of live music, anvil ringing, battle cries, sword’s clashing and laughter.
